Surface Morphology Changes of Bleached Dental Ceramics

چکیده

Tooth whitening is one of the most conservative procedures for increasing aesthetics patients, but effect bleaching on ceramic restorations has not been extensively studied. In this study, three dental restoration materials (polished/glazed lithium disilicate glass ceramic, leucite reinforced and zirconium dioxide ceramic) investigated in terms surface roughness changes exposed samples. Philips Zoom NiteWhite 16% carbamide peroxide, 6% hydrogen peroxide with following LED illumination Pola Office have used bleaching. The experimental investigation performed statistical analysis revealed that highest all ceramics were caused by lowest peroxide. These findings correlated well colour observed same bleached samples indicating potential as prospective agent.

Effect of Acidic Agents on Surface Roughness of Dental Ceramics

BACKGROUND An increase in surface roughness of ceramics may decrease strength and affect the clinical success of ceramic restorations. However, little is known about the effect of acidic agents on ceramic restorations. The aim of this study was to evaluate the surface roughness of dental ceramics after being immersed in acidic agents. METHODS Eighty-three ceramic disk specimens (12.0 mm in di...

Wear performance of monolithic dental ceramics with different surface treatments.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the two-body wear performance of monolithic dental ceramics with different surface treatments. METHOD AND MATERIALS Standardized specimens (n = 8/ series) were fabricated from three monolithic dental ceramics (experimental translucent zirconia, experimental shaded zirconia, lithium disilicate). Four groups of each material were defined according to clinically relevant...

Fatigue of dental ceramics.

OBJECTIVES Clinical data on survival rates reveal that all-ceramic dental prostheses are susceptible to fracture from repetitive occlusal loading. The objective of this review is to examine the underlying mechanisms of fatigue in current and future dental ceramics. DATA/SOURCES The nature of various fatigue modes is elucidated using fracture test data on ceramic layer specimens from the denta...
